Coralville Man Taken Into Custody on Charge of Enticing Away a Minor
On Thursday June 16, 2011 at about 11:30 AM, officers from the Marion Police Department took Craig James Perry, age 35, of Coralville, Iowa into custody on a charge of Enticing Away a Minor (Iowa Code 710.10(2)) - a class D felony.
The investigation involved Perry contacting a female under the age of 16 via "Facebook" and attempting to meet the female for a sexual purpose. The child and parents contacted the Marion P.D. and an officer began posing as the child on the Facebook account.
Perry went to Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids for the purpose of meeting the female juvenile for the purpose of having a sexual encounter. Officers confronted Perry in the parking lot of the Lindale Mall and took Perry into custody.
Perry was later taken to the Linn County Jail.
